It’s a big year for Morling College! This year we celebrate 100 years since Morling College first started training people for ministry. We had a different name back in 1916, the Baptist Theological College of NSW, and we started out in different locations, in Harris Street (Ultimo) and Petersham churches, but our ethos is the same: to give our utmost for the Highest – Summa Supremo.
Morling College continues to change and evolve, creating a learning environment which meets the needs of all types of students, including those who cannot make it on to campus each week for classes. Morling Online caters for these students, and with a revamp of our online offerings in 2016, Semester 2 is your chance to plug in to the Morling community.
Morling Online is an online expression of Morling College. It is a consolidation and centralisation of our eLearning expertise, resources and support staff, allowing for equal access to these, alongside quality teaching for the whole College – Bible and Theology, Education and Counselling. Whether you are interested in studying the Bible, Education or Counselling, our goal is that through Morling Online, you would experience the same high quality service, support and study experience, irrespective of the course, location or the mode in which you choose to study.
With an intentional and strategic plan, Morling Online has been developed across four areas – teaching and learning, systems and processes, technology, and staffing and support. Lecturers are meeting students in ‘virtual classrooms’ to discuss course content, and to connect with students’ stories from wherever they find themselves studying. As a student, you have the opportunity to study at a time that suits you, because Morling Online is “always open”.
Through the construction of a brand new, state of the art, fully interactive digital classroom, as a student, you can be privy to live streamed lectures, with a greater allowance for blended modes of  on-campus class delivery. New staff have been appointed, including an Online Tutor to assist students with Academic Writing and Study Skills, as well as facilitating online orientation sessions for all new students. And, help is never far away with our new Help Desk for online students.  You can apply for extensions online and access student and library services easily with the brand new Morling Online (Moodle) site.
Central to everything we do at Morling College, is allowing you the provision of strong support systems, both academically and pastorally, regardless of whether you are studying on campus or online. We are committed to continued development of our online spaces and new features to help support and engage all aspects of the Morling Community.
As the largest online provider of Biblical and Theological education in Australia, Morling Online invites you to enrol in semester 2, to discover for yourself what online learning can look like in your busy, everyday life.
