The Auburn Ministry Centre is a unique ministry initiative located in one of Australia’s most multicultural communities. With nine out of ten residents speaking a language other than English at home and people from a wide range of cultural and religious backgrounds, Auburn presents both a significant mission opportunity and a picture of the global church on one doorstep.

Rather than being centred around a single congregation, the Auburn Ministry Centre is designed as a shared space where churches from different cultural backgrounds can partner together in gospel ministry. The vision is one of mutuality and equality, where churches learn from one another, serve alongside one another, and work toward establishing healthy, sustainable ministries among the diverse communities of the area.

The story of the Sydney Nepali Church illustrates this vision in practice. The church has become a place of belonging, discipleship and leadership development for migrants and has planted churches across multiple Australian cities. Their participation in the Auburn Ministry Centre demonstrates how diverse congregations can unite around a shared kingdom mission.

The Auburn Ministry Centre is a glimpse of the future kingdom of God – a community where people from every nation worship together under Jesus.
