P’RU is an exciting and new leadership development pathway that seeks to identify, equip and release leaders from culturally diverse backgrounds into ministry across Australia.
Australia’s growing multicultural population presents both an opportunity and a challenge for the church. Many migrants and culturally diverse Christians face barriers such as language, employment, and belonging, while also bringing significant leadership experience, resilience, and spiritual maturity. P’RU recognises that these leaders are not starting from scratch; they have already been shaped through hardship, responsibility and ministry experience.
The program combines formal theological training through partnerships with organisations such as Morling College and Baptist Mission Australia, while also creating supportive community and mentoring relationships. Participants describe finding not only training but also a family, a place to belong and a clear pathway to be part of God’s mission in Australia.
The goal is not merely to develop individual leaders but to raise leaders who will disciple and develop other leaders. By empowering culturally diverse leaders to serve and lead effectively, P’RU helps build bridges between cultures, generations, and communities.
By recognising and releasing leaders who reflect the diversity of Australia, P’RU is helping shape the future church and contributing to the vision of 1,000 healthy churches, led by leaders who can reach the communities around them with the gospel.
