At The Gathering incorporating the Annual Assembly, we heard from the Mission and Church Health Team on what’s been happening in their space towards our shared Gen1K Goal.
In 2023 the Association acquired a property in the south west Sydney growth corridor and began to explore partnerships with and between churches in the region to seed a new congregation. In 2024 Camden Baptist entered a Resource Church covenant with the Association, training and releasing a Church Planting Resident to begin this new work. There is an opportunity for Association churches to extend the invitation and mobilise people in their congregations to join the planting team in Wilton.
In 2024 the Association entered a matching grant with New Vine Vineyards, the Hunter churches and regional ministry to help this 8-year-old church plant acquire its first home in the lower Hunter growth corridor in Branxton.
In late 2024 the Association acquired a site in the north west Sydney growth corridor and is in the initial stage of engaging the regional ministry and local churches to develop a ministry plan for this area.
