At the end of July State Youth Camp received unfortunate news that our long-standing venue Cataract Scout Park would no longer be able to host us, as it has had to temporarily close for maintenance works. This was, understandably, a significant challenge for us to overcome, especially with over 400 kids from 28 different youth groups relying on us to deliver an amazing camp experience.
However, we are thrilled to share that what initially felt like a setback has truly become an incredible testament to God’s provision and the power of prayer. We are overjoyed to announce that State Youth Camp 2025 will now be held at Wyong Christian Community School!
The support we have received from Wyong Baptist Church & Wyong Christian Community School has been nothing short of miraculous. From the moment we reached out, the church and the school have embraced the vision of State Youth Camp with open arms, demonstrating immense generosity, flexibility, and a genuine desire to see our young people thrive. Their willingness to partner with us on such short notice and to accommodate such a large event is truly a blessing. And a clear answer to the many prayers offered for a way forward to enable SYC 2025 to continue.
Our team are so confident that Wyong Christian Community School will provide an excellent environment for State Youth Camp in 2025. While it’s a different type of venue, we believe it allows us to continue providing the high-quality, impactful camp experience our campers have come to expect.
More, the change to the Central Coast has allowed us to explore new opportunities to support the local churches in the regions, so even more young people can be involved in camp in some way.
God has opened every door, window and back fence to make SYC at Wyong possible for this year and he’s about to do something BIG!
