It’s a brand new day here at Morling College as we prepare for our centenary next year. While we’ll be looking back on our remarkable history, we’re also planning for the future.
In 2016 Morling College will be launching a number of new courses (you can take a peek here: www.morlingcollege.com/study-areas/all-courses) including a Master in Missional Leadership (MML) and a Certificate in Church Planting (SENT). In order to create these two new courses, Rev. Dr Karina Kreminski joined us here at Morling College at the beginning of 2015, as Lecturer in Missional Studies. She has had a whirlwind year in the detailed development of these two new degree programs. Before adding a wealth of expertise and experience to our Tinsley Institute team, Karina was the Senior Pastor at Community Life Church Cherrybrook for over 12 years, and she was completing her doctorate through Regent University (USA), in the area of the formation of a missional people. Karina is also a gifted speaker, a noted blogger, a firstrate mentor (www.karinakreminski.com.au), and regularly writes for Missio Alliance (www.missioalliance.org) — a role she particularly relishes.
Rev. Dr Michael Frost, the Director of the Tinsley Institute and Vice Principal of Morling College, could not be happier to have someone of Karina’s calibre pioneering our exciting new courses: “Karina Kreminski’s status as a writer and thinker in the field of missional studies is growing internationally through her association with Missio Alliance and her studies at Regent University. We are delighted that she has joined our team and look forward to the contribution she’ll make in the Tinsley Institute and to the lives of future students.”
The Master of Missional Leadership is a postgraduate award, open to people with a prior degree in any field. If you are a leader of a church, para-church organisation, or any other institution and you desire to reorient your organisation around a missional framework, then this course is for you! The MML is focused on training and equipping practitioners. MML course units will be taught by Karina, our talented team of Morling College lecturers, as well as expert international scholars and professionals. A key and unique component of our MML is a major project which allows students to design and implement a model for missional formation in their own organisation. If you are looking to keep developing as a cutting-edge leader within a challenging and stimulating environment, then we encourage you to think about doing the MML.
Is God calling you to plant a church? If you have a pioneering spirit, then Morling College’s new Church Planting Certificate SENT is the qualification you’ve been looking for. SENT has been created for anyone who isn’t interested in “content download” but wants to be trained in an environment where practical application, relevant experience, and formation are crucial for learning. Students have the opportunity to connect with other church planters who have a dream and goal for planting. SENT students will also be trained by some of the best practitioners and theoreticians inside and outside of our Baptist denomination. SENT is a certificate-level course, which is done part-time for a year and can be credited towards a unit in one of our degrees if you wish to pursue further study at Morling College. We have a vision in our movement for 1000 healthy churches in a generation (GEN1K). Is God calling you to join with him to make that happen?
